Although the Los Angeles Dodgers didn’t get their eighth-straight NL West crown, they’re still the oddsmakers’ favorites to win their second-straight World Series title. Now, the Dodgers must face the Cardinals in the winner-take-all wild-card game on Wednesday. The Dodgers will see this as a blow, but online sportsbook Bovada still has them as +350 favorites to win the 2021 World Series.
The Giants Win National League West Division Title
Despite winning 106 games during the season, the LA Dodgers were relegated to the NL Wild Card because of a historic run by the San Francisco Giants. The Giants clinched the NL West Division title with a win over the San Diego Padres on Sunday. This victory took the San Francisco baseball team’s win tally to 107 games for the season.
The San Francisco Giants are currently the second favorites to win the series with +450, and The Tampa Bay Rays have the third-lowest odds at +500.

New York Yankees Defeated by Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox ended the Yankees’ World Series hopes by beating them 6-2. Xander Bogaerts and Kyle Schwarber homered off Yankees ace Gerrit Cole, and ex Yankees player Nathan Eovaldi took a shutout into the sixth inning to help the Red Sox to victory. With the game still close, Shortstop Bogaerts executed a perfect relay to throw out Aaron Judge at the plate to send the Red Sox into the AL Division Series. Boston will now face the Tampa Bay Rays on October 7.
