Cooper Kupp and Joe Burrow achieved some impressive numbers to get their teams to Super Bowl 56 last Sunday. Kupp managed to score two touchdowns for the Los Angeles Rams to secure a 20-17 win against the San Francisco 49ers in their NFC Championship Game. And in the AFC Championship Game, Joe Burrow passed for 250 yards and two touchdowns to send the Kansas City Chiefs packing with a 27-24 overtime victory. As we now know the contestants for this year’s Super Bowl, online NFL bookmakers have released player prop bets for the biggest game in football.

Injury Updates for Super Bowl 56

After a long season, both franchises have done well not to lose their star players to injury. The starting tight ends for both teams – CJ Uzomah (Bengals) and Tyler Higbee (Rams) – picked up knee sprains in their respective NFL Championship Games. Although the Bengals are confident that Uzomah will feature in the Super Bowl, the Rams are still unsure whether Higbee will take to the field.

Other possible doubts for the LA Rams are running back Cam Akers (shoulder) and wide receiver Van Jefferson (knee). Both players left the field in the first half of the game against the 49ers but managed to return after.

Can the Rams Shut Down Joe Mixon?

Despite the Rams being 17th in the NFL in total defense during the regular season, they were sixth against the run. This is mainly due to seven-time All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald’s impressive ability to clog opposing teams’ running lanes. The Rams defense has allowed a total of 162 rushing yards in their three playoffs victories – including holding San Francisco to 50. Although the 49ers’ rushing attack was the seventh-best in the league during the regular season, it only managed 2.5 yards per attempt against Los Angeles.

Cincinnati’s Joe Mixon bagged third place in the NFL for rushing during the regular season with 1,205 yards. In spite of this impressive achievement, Mixon hasn’t gone over 100 yards in eight games. Although most NFL betting lines for the Bengals vs. Rams only favor Los Angeles by 3.5 points, which will lead many to predict that they’ll be many rushing attempts in a close game, Mixon’s recent track record suggests that rushing attempts will come just under on February 13.

Will Ja’Marr Chase Run Riot?

Although Los Angeles has only allowed an average of 220.7 yards in the playoffs, the defense will face a different beast in the Super Bowl. With Burrow on fire and blessed with receivers like rookie Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd, the Rams are likely to struggle to contain the Bengals.

Moreover, Cincinnati had the seventh-best passing offense during the regular season. Despite Burrow not being able to surpass 280 yards in the postseason, Cincinnati’s passing game is a force to be reckoned with. Also, even though he’s still a rookie, Chase is already one of the game’s top deep threats. The 21-year-old averaged 18 yards a reception in the regular season, caught 81 passes for 1,455 yards, and bagged 13 touchdowns.

However, the Chiefs were able to limit Chase to 54 receiving yards after he went over 100 in the first two playoff games. Still, as the Rams have a poorer secondary than Kansas City, expect Chase to go over 100 in Super Bowl 56.
