When Tom Brady left the New England Patriots, few anticipated him going on to lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to Super Bowl LV last season. But after all, he is the confirmed GOAT. Likewise, you wouldn’t have found many neutral NFL fans betting on the Patriots for Super Bowl LVI after they started the season with a 1-3 record (which included a 19-17 loss at home to Tampa Bay).

However, with the regular season coming towards its close, there is now the increasing possibility of the Patriots and the Buccaneers going head-to-head on February 13, 2022, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Brady SI Sportsperson of the Year, Again!

For a year marked by triumph in Super Bowl LV and—in the middle of an MVP-caliber encore the legendary quarterback has recently received the coveted Sports Illustrated accolade for the second time, 16 years after the first.

In the 2000 NFL draft, he was selected in the sixth round, pick 199. Fast forward 20 years and Brady begins the year by leading his new club, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, to a five-game winning streak, one at the conclusion of the regular season and four in the playoffs to reach this 10th Super Bowl. He duly won his seventh ring and was voted Super Bowl MVP for the sixth time, stamping his name on yet another NFL season.

Brady, who is now 44 years old, is on track to have another fantastic season, he’s leading the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns and is the betting favourite to win his fourth regular season MVP award, but Josh Allen, Aaron Rodgers, Kyler Murray and Matthew Stafford are close behind.

Bucs Still Favs on the Sportsbooks

Going into the busy Christmas period, Tom’s Buccaneers are the favorites to retain the Vince Lombardi Trophy at odds of +550 with Bovada Sportsbook but, following their 14-10 win on the road at the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, the New England Patriots are now 9-4 for the season and the +850 joint fifth favorites in the betting to win the Super Bowl.

The latest Conference betting lines has the Patriots at +325 to win the AFC, marginally behind the Kansas City Chiefs, with the Buccaneers the +400 to win the NFC.

There are some great NFL Futures betting odds available should you wish to back any of the other teams for the Super Bowl or one of the Conferences, or if you prefer to focus on the individual weekend games.

Super Bowl Betting Odds

Of course, there’s still a long way to go before the Super Bowl and plenty of obstacles remain for both teams, but the prospect of a Brady vs Belichick showdown would have enormous appeal for football fans and pundits alike.
