The summer is over but golf fans still have the one they’ve all been waiting for left to go. The 43rd Ryder Cup is sure to be one of the biggest tournaments of the season, as we’ll see Europe’s best face off against a very strong USA team.

With three days of intense international action, there’s so much to play for as we approach the event start day on Friday, 24 September. All eyes will be on the Sunday singles, where the USA looks confirm favoritism with their stacked roster of players — many of whom feature at the top of the OWGR rankings.

2021 Ryder Cup

Where: Whistling Straits, Wisconsin, USA
When: 24-26 September 2021
What happened last time? – Europe won convincingly in Paris back in 2018, but a lot has happened since then!

How Do the Top US Sportsbooks See It?

As the tournaments have rolled along throughout the year, we’ve seen the golf futures odds constantly adjusting. With so much talent on display, it’s always difficult to handicap the Ryder Cup. As you’d expect, there is so much on the line and the pressure on the players is beginning to build.

Many claimed that the 2018 Ryder Cup went to the Europe team because they had so much time to practice on the Paris golf course. But, the reality was that the Europe team were excellent on paper and riding high, which is why the margin of the defeat was as wide as 17½ to 10½.

2021 Ryder Cup Betting Odds – Can Stricker’s Men Strike at odds of -200?

U.S. Captain Steve Stricker has selected an elite group of players for the 2021 tournament. Looking across the top US betting sites, we can see that USA to win is hovering around -175, while the Europe team is at around +200 to lift the Ryder Cup.

2021 Ryder Cup Teams

As always, we expect the Sunday sesion to be the deciding factor in this one—as recent history tell us from the 2016 and 2018 events. It’s been three years since the two sides competed for the biggest honours in the sport and we expect a rowdy American home crowd and some even more high-geared player performances than usual.

Captain’s Picks

Team USA’s captain Steve Stricker has now announced his Captain’s picks following the TOUR Championship.

  • Tony Finau
  • Xander Schauffele
  • Jordan Spieth
  • Harris English
  • Daniel Berger
  • Scottie Scheffler

What can we expect from the underdogs?

One thing that will be on Stricker’s mind is the likely ‘Golder of the Year’ in the form of Jon Rahm.

Rahm’s adaptability on any course and his output in match-play is unrivalled at the moment, that isn’t to say there aren’t golfers in the USA team that cannot turn up on their day and beat him. But, regardless of that, on paper and based on recent form, he’s going to be a hard man to stop.

Ultimately, Europe team captain Padraig Harrington knows going into this tournament that his team are up against it. They are the reigning Ryder Cup holders and even a draw will be seen as win.

If Europe can reach 14 points, they may just manage a draw. While it’s possible at around +1100, it’s still not a likely outcome. The momentum is with USA and we expect the to be reflected at Whistling Straits.
