california sportsbook, las vegas

The Hawaiian-themed California Hotel and Casino (also known as The Cal) opened in 1975 and has been owned by Boyd Gaming since it was built.

Located in downtown Las Vegas, the hotel currently has 781 rooms and amenities include a rooftop pool and fitness center. There’s a shuttle service to Sam’s Town in Henderson, and from Sam’s Town to the Las Vegas strip.

The California Sportsbook

The Cal’s Sportsbook and Lounge is where you can catch all your favorite sporting events on one of 18 65″” TVs, or the big game of the day on their two 2 90″” TVs. This is all well and good but there’s one major drawback – there is no racebook!

What they do offer is all the latest betting lines and future offs. The sports book is usually open each day until the last major event has started.

The California’s Sportsbook isn’t the biggest, but its 40-seat area on the hotel’s second floor has everything you need to find all the latest Vegas betting odds and place a bet on your favorite teams. It’s conveniently located next to Dave’s Aloha Bar with its range of tropical and traditional beverages and there are affordable eating options down the hall at Aloha Specialties.

There’s a lot of noise around in this sportsbook due to being situated right in the middle of the main casino. If you don’t mind the background murmur it’s in a very convenient location and so also handy to pop in for a quick sports bet before you head off into the Las Vegas night.

Hawaii fans

Good news for Hawaii fans, their sports book is set up to show all the the UH football games odds during the season.
