Israel Adesanya

The 31-year-old Nigerian, who fights out of New Zealand, comes into this fight on the back of his first defeat.

Adesanya has had two successful title defenses at middleweight, but in March he decided to step up and challenge Jan Blachowicz for the light heavyweight title in a bid to become a dual-weight champion. Although the fight was competitive, Adesanya went on to lose on a unanimous decision.

Marvin Vettori

Since that previous aforementioned loss to Adesanya, the 27-year-old Italian is on a five-fight winning streak. His most recent fight was on April 10 when he beat Kevin Holland via a unanimous decision in which he set a middleweight record with 11 takedowns.

How they match up

Adesanya has a four-inch height and six-inch reach advantage over Vettori, and has used that size and extra reach to good effect in recording 15 knockouts with his accurate power punches in his 20 wins to date.

In addition to his punching power and kicks, The Last Stylebender has also recently been working on his jiu-jitsu.

Adesanya vs Vettori Betting Odds

The latest betting odds according to the Bovada Sportsbook has Adesanya as a moderate favorite to win this fight at -250 (1.40 in decimal odds) with Marvin Vettori the underdog on offer at odds of +200 (3.00 decimal odds).

What happened when they last met?

Vettori gave a great account of himself in his first fight with Adesanya by constantly moving forward and looking to immediately counter any of his opponent’s strikes.

Who will win this time?

Both fighters have probably improved their striking since they first met, but although Vettori has the definite advantage when it comes to grappling, Adesanya’s been in with tougher opponents throughout his career and looks to have the edge in big fight experience.

Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno Odds Picks & Fighter Stats

The co-main event on the same card sees current champion Deiveson “Deus da Guerra” Figueiredo (20-1-1) up against Brandon “The Assassin Baby” Moreno (18-5-2) in a flyweight title bout.

This is another rematch, with the pair having previously met in December last year at UFC 256. That was an exhilarating fight in which Figueiredo retained his title after the bout was scored a majority draw.

Deiveson Figueiredo

Figueiredo claimed the flyweight title when he defeated Joseph Benavidez in July 2020 with a Rear Naked Choke in the final seconds of the first round.

The 33-year-old Brazilian in unbeaten in his last six fights, with his last loss coming back in March 2019 when he was beaten by Jussier Formiga on a unanimous decision.

Brandon Moreno

As is the case with his opponent, the 27-year-old Mexican hasn’t lost any of his last six fights either. He last lost back in February 2019 in a Grappling Bout against the American Richard Alarcon by a decision verdict.

Figueiredo vs Morena Betting Odds

As was the case when these two met six months ago, Figueiredo is again the moderate favorite going into the fight (slightly less favored by the Las Vegas sportsbooks than he was ahead of December’s bout).

Figueiredo vs Morena Prediction

Figueiredo is the more powerful striker of the two and he withstood Moreno’s superior grappling skills in the first fight. Moreno did take the Brazilian down four times, but Figueiredo proved strong enough to get back on his feet on each occasion.

Perhaps the biggest factor to take into consideration from the last fight is that Figueiredo was taken ill the night before the bout last year and was only released from hospital in the early hours of the morning on the day of the fight itself. That can hardly have helped his conditioning going into the bout.

This could be another great battle between these two, who have plenty of respect for each other after that first fight. Figueiredo looks to be the man with the tools to retain his title here.
