Anthony Smith UFC Odds
The 33-year-old Anthony Smith broke a two-fight losing streak when he recorded a couple of impressive and much-needed wins against Devin Clark and light heavyweight prospect Jimmy Crute in November 2020 and April 2021 respectively.
Before those two rebound wins, Smith had dropped back-to-back fights last year with losses to Glover Teixeira (in which he was on the receiving end of some punishing damage) and Aleksandar Rakic.
Smith is a vastly experienced fighter who has beaten the likes of Hector Lombard, Rashad Evans, Mauricio Rua, Volkan Oezdemir, Alexandre Gustafsson since joining the UFC in 2016.
Smith is used to being in the Octagon against the best in the business and fought for the light heavyweight title against legendary Jon “Bones” Jones in 2019, when he was defeated by him via a unanimous decision.
Of Smith’s 35 career victories, 19 have come via KO and 13 by submission. His 16 losses have included nine by knockout and four by submission. Fights involving Smith rarely go the distance.
Ryan Spann UFC Odds
The 30-year-old Ryan Spann also comes into this bout on the back of an impressive win, having claimed a first-round knockout over Misha Cirkunov in March. It was a victory that came off the back of a first-round loss to Johnny Walker in September 2020. That defeat was the first Spann has suffered in the UFC.
In contrast to Smith, Spann is a relatively inexperienced fighter. He is a powerful striker and five of his 19 career wins have come via KO. However, his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt has seen him record seven guillotine chokes on his professional record and helped him to 11 career wins via submission.
Of his six career losses, three have been via knockout, with one by submission. Like Smith, Spann’s fights rarely go the distance.
Smith v Spann – The Verdict
Neither of these fighters are close to being potential contenders for Jan Blachowicz’s title as things stand, but whoever wins this fight can start to climb the ladder as a possible title challenger going forward.
Spann is a definite danger to Smith, but the far greater experience of “Lionheart” makes him a worthy favorite to claim the win here.
Smith vs Spann Betting Odds
In the Fight Result betting odds with leading sportsbook Bovada, Anthony Smith is a marginal favorite at odds of –175, while those bettors wishing to back Ryan Spann can do so at odds of +145.
Ion Cutelaba vs Devin Clark Betting Preview
There will also be a light heavyweight bout between Ion “The Hulk” Cuțelaba (15-6-0) and Devin “Brown Bear” Clark (12-5-0) on the card.
This bout was originally scheduled to take place in May, but Clark was forced out of the contest due to an injury. Instead, Cutelaba fought Dustin Jacoby, with their three-round battle ending in a split draw.

Ion Cutelaba – The 27-year-old Cutelaba from Moldova will now be looking to claim his first win since 2019, after going down to back-to-back first round losses in two fights against Magomed Ankalaev prior to meeting Jacoby.
Cutelaba’s last win was an elbow TKO of Khalil Rountree in September 2019, so the pressure is very much on him to get his name in the win column in this bout.
Devin Clark – The 31-year-old Clark from Albuquerque, New Mexico last fought in November 2020, when he suffered a submission loss with a triangle choke to former title contender Anthony Smith. Prior to that loss, Clark had recorded back-to-back wins over Dequan Townsend and Alonzo Menifield.
Cutelaba vs Clark Betting Odds
Cutelaba goes into the bout as a marginal favorite in the Fight Result betting with Bovada at UFC odds of –140, with Clark on offer at odds of +115.
Those betting odds make this fight a very even matchup and under the circumstances, it could be that Clark provides the greater value for bettors with Cutelaba desperately needing a win to rebound after a three-fight winless skid. That puts the Moldovan under serious pressure.
