Alexander Volkov vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik

The night’s main event between heavyweights Drago and Bigi Boy will see both opponents look to comeback after their recent losses.

Alexander Volkov last faced Tom Aspinall in March. The Russian was submitted in just the first round against Aspinall in London.

The 33-year-old has battled many of the same fighters in the division as Rozenstruik. They have both met Ciryl Gane, Alistair Overeem, and Curtis Blaydes inside the Octagon. They share a 1-2 record against these fighters – both managed to best Overeem but suffered losses at the hands of the others.

Alexander Volkov has a 74% finishing rate that includes 22 knockouts, three submission wins, and nine decision wins.

Volkov is the more experienced fighter, with 29 additional fights. He is five inches taller and has a slight reach advantage. Sportsbooks have the Russian as a slight favorite to begin his comeback story with a win.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik went the distance against Curtis Blaydes in his last bout in September but didn’t do enough to convince the judges he had won. Blaydes has sliced through most of the division, including Volkov back in 2020.

The Surinamese mixed martial artist has a 92% finish rate, including 11 knockout wins, and a decision win.

He has shown repeatedly that he is a force to be reckoned with in the division. With all of his victories in the UFC coming from knockouts. While the only fighter able to deliver a knockout to Rozenstruik was reigning champion Francis Ngannou.

Rozenstruik is a slight underdog to come out the winner, but you can’t count him out. He comes out battling and is hard to stop, and with a style similar t0 Volkov’s, this promises to be an all-out striking war.

Dan Ige vs. Movsar Evloev

Dan Ige will look to stop the unbeaten Russian in this light featherweight matchup.

Dan Ige looked unstoppable from 2018 till 2020, when he put together a six-win streak. Since then, he has let things slide a little, with three recent losses against Calvin Kattar, Chan Sung Jung, and most recently, Josh Emmett at UFC 269.

Many people have not wanted to take on the seemingly unstoppable Movsar Evloev, but “50K” prides himself on taking on anyone, anywhere.

The American will need to have a strong takedown defense to withstand the proficient grappling of his opponent. If he can keep things standing, he might just be able to deliver the Russian’s first loss.

Movsar Evloev is a former M-1 Challenge champion that transitioned to the UFC in 2019. He has never lost a professional fight, with 15 wins, including victories against some high-caliber fighters like Nik Lentz and Seung Woo Choi.

The Russian’s style is to grind out his victories using his grappling, with all of his wins inside the Octagon coming from decisions. He lands an average of 4.00 takedowns per 15 minutes. This might cause a problem for Ige, who has a takedown defense of just 55%.

A convincing win for either fighter could see them take on a top-five ranked featherweight next. The sportsbooks’ pick to get that opportunity is Evloev, with odds of -310 for him to beat Ige on the night.

Michael Trizano vs. Lucas Almeida

This interesting featherweight matchup will feature two newcomers that will want to make their marks.

Mike Trizano made his entrance to the UFC through the Ultimate Fighter in 2018, but since then, he has only fought inside the Octagon a handful of times. Sadly two of these fights have ended in losses, with his most recent defeat coming at the hands of Hakeem Dawodu.

The Lone Wolf will need a win against Almeida to get back on track. He has a 34% finishing rate, with three knockouts, two submissions, and six decision victories.

The New Yorker is fairly matched up with his opponent, so he will have a good chance of getting the win. They both share the same height and reach, the only difference is Almeida’s slight leg reach advantage.

You might remember Lucas Almeida from Dana White’s Contender Series. The Brazilain featured on the show last year but lost to Daniel Zellhuber, which halted his dreams of entering the UFC.

Despite this setback, Dana has given him another shot to see what he’s made of. He will drop down from the Jungle Fight lightweight division for this UFC debut.

Almeida has a 100% finishing rate, with 9/13 wins coming in the first round. He has shown that he is proficient in all kinds of styles of fighting, picking up victories with plenty of knockouts as well as stylish submissions.

Will he be able to hold his nerve under the bright lights of the UFC franchise and keep his streak alive? He is currently +180, which is an attractive line for a fighter with such an impressive record.

Poliana Botelho vs. Karine Silva

This women’s flyweight matchup will see Botelho look to make a comeback after recent losses against Silva in her UFC debut.

Poliana Botelho hasn’t got a win in the Octagon for over three years. She will want to snap her two-fight losing streak with a strong performance on the weekend.

The 33-year-old has a 75% finish rate, with six knockout wins and two by decision. The Brazilian is three inches taller than her opponent but shares the same reach. She will need a win here to be confident of sticking around in the franchise.

Karine Silva earned her spot in the franchise after impressing everyone in Dana White’s Contender Series. The Brazilian submitted fellow hopeful Qihui Yan in the second round to get her shot at the UFC.

“Killer” is currently on a five-fight win streak and has an 84.6% finish rate with nine knockouts and five submissions. She has plenty of hype around her and this will be her chance to showcase her talents to plenty of fresh eyes.

Alonzo Menifield vs. Askar Mozharov

This fight will feature another new name to the UFC. Menifield will try to come back after his recent loss against Mozharov, who’s making his debut in the light heavyweight division.

Alonzo Menifield was on a two-fight win streak until he faced William Knight back in December. The American lost by unanimous decision, adding a third career loss to his record.

Menifield has a 91% finish rate, with seven knockouts, three submission wins, and one decision victory. A win against the newcomer will put him back on course to continue up the rankings.

Askar Mozharov has been given the name No Mercy and is currently exercising that motto with a three-fight win streak. All of which have come within the first round due to stoppages, two in 33 seconds or less.

The Ukrainian was due to make his UFC debut over a year ago but had visa problems. The 27-year-old is seven years younger than Menifield but carries more than double the professional experience.

Not a lot is known about this fierce competitor, but we did a quick youtube search where we found a highlight reel and some training footage.

If Mozharov can bring the same explosive energy to the UFC, we can see him climbing the ranks quickly.

Felice Herrig vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz

This will be the second time that these strawweights’ will have met. The first time around, Kowalkiewicz got the win by decision. Since then (April 2018) neither fighter has a win, so this will be a chance for one of them to turn that around.

Felice Herrig took some time out to refocus after her third loss in a row came against Virna Jandiroba in August 2020. This will see her return with a fresh mindset to rekindle what was a blossoming career.

“Lil Bulldog” has a 29% finish rate, with a single knockout win, four submission victories, and ten decisions that have gone her way. The 37-year-old is one year older than her opponent but has a height and reach advantage.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz is on a five-fight losing streak, with her last win coming against Herrig back in 2018. The Polish striker will want a repeat performance in this rematch to stick around amongst the UFC ranks.

The 36-year-old enters with a 25% finish rate, with one knockout win, two submissions, and nine decision victories.
