Matthew Stafford and Joe Burrow are the clear Super Bowl 56 MVP favorites. NFL betting sites have Stafford at +125 and Burrow at +235 to win the honors this Sunday. Because quarterbacks have by far the best MVP record (31 wins out of 55), it’s no surprise that Burrow and Stafford are the frontrunners. However, in a postseason packed with upsets, could the biggest game in football end with another shock? Super Bowl 56 MVP Odds – Matthew Stafford
As the LA Rams are the moneyline favorites for the game on Sunday, Matthew Stafford is the leading contender to win MVP on February 13. The 34-year-old has put a fairly shaky season behind him to reach the biggest game in football in his first season with Los Angeles. Nevertheless, some critics argue that he hasn’t been extraordinary and is doing what’s expected of him in a team built to win the Super Bowl. The consensus amongst many is that head coach Sean Mcvay has done the hard work so the Rams QB doesn’t have to.
However, this is a bit harsh. Admittedly, he was lucky to get away with a mistake against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game when Jaquiski Tartt failed to come down with the ball that hit him square on. But the former Detroit Lions player has managed 905 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception in the playoffs. Rams fans hope that the recent scare against the 49ers will keep Stafford error-free when lining up against the Bengals on Sunday.
Super Bowl 56 MVP Odds – Joe Burrow
Joe Burrow’s incredible performances have led the Bengals from the NFL’s basement to Super Bowl 56. The Bengals were +20000 underdogs to lift the Lombardi Trophy before the season got underway. Despite the decent performances from Burrow and co, Las Vegas oddsmakers still didn’t give them much of a chance in the playoffs. Before their AFC Championship game against Kansas City, most sportsbooks had the Bengals as +800 underdogs to beat the Chiefs. The star quarterback was, as he has been throughout the last six months, undeterred by what the bookmakers thought and led his team to victory.
Despite frequent poor play-calls, flimsy protection, and a defense that dedicates most of its resources to receiver Ja’Marr Chase, the 25-year-old keeps the game flowing in his team’s favor. Because Burrow’s effectiveness lies in his ability to produce, no matter the conditions, he is a good value bet to win the MVP honors this Sunday.
Super Bowl MVP Odds – Cooper Kupp
At +600 odds, Cooper Kupp is the third most likely candidate to win Super Bowl MVP. Usually, quarterbacks get their hands on the award. But as NFL games have produced their fair share of shocks in the last few months, many bettors will be placing action on Kupp to get the honors. The Offensive Player of the Year caught 145 passes for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns to lead the NFL in all three categories for the regular season. Therefore, we know he has the pedigree to win Super Bowl 56 MVP. Yet because only four wide receivers have got the honors in the last 20 Super Bowls, he will have to bring his A-game and some extra to take home the MVP award.

Outside of the quarterback domination, running backs and wide receivers have each won the MVP award seven times. On the defensive side, linebackers (four) have won the honors the most times. If you think the Bengals will beat the Rams, Burrow at +210 is not a bad bet, as you’ll get better odds than the moneyline. However, if you’re planning on wagering on long-shot Ja’Marr Chase (+1600), keep in mind that no rookie has ever won a Super Bowl MVP award.
