With the NBA season barely a third of the way through, it’s the Brooklyn Nets who are dominating the 2021-22 NBA Championship race.
The Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks, and Phoenix Suns are still hanging on to their coat tails, but can the Nets be caught? Here’s the latest information and NBA betting odds on the title race this season.
Despite losing 100-93 to the Orlando Magic, the Nets are +250 to win the NBA Championship in 2021-22 . The Warriors are now +600, the Bucks +700, and the Suns +800, but expect these NBA odds to shift over Christmas.
Front Runners
It’s always difficult to predict who will win the NBA title in 2022 before the season starts but the Brooklyn Nets were the favorites with the offshore and Vegas sportsbooks and are justifying their pre-season NBA betting odds by setting the early pace. Because their Big Three of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving are all anticipated to be fit next year, sportsbooks are not taking any changes offering them at odds of +236.
The Los Angeles Lakers are the second favourite. Because of the team’s total depth they have a good chance.
Brooklyn Nets +236
This futures bet isn’t worth the money, especially when compared to other teams’ chances at NBA betting sites. But if Kevin Durant and James Harden stay healthy, they should win the title. Only eight regular-season games together last season and they grabbed the No. 2 seed in the East. Trading Irving might help their prospects. They haven’t gotten much out of him this season, so a trade would help the Nets.
Milwaukee Bucks +680
The Bucks have Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, and Jrue Holiday so will still fancy their chances of catching the Brooklyn Nets. Despite the Nets being ranked higher than Milwaukee overall, the Antetokounmpo factor always gives the Bucks a big advantage in the postseason.
Despite a slow start, the Bucks are 19-13 in the East. So, if they can regain their form from last season, they may win the NBA Championship twice. The Bucks are currently in a bind, as Covid has suspended several of its key players.
Golden State Warriors +510
Despite their recent loss to the Toronto Raptors, the Warriors are still +510 odds to win the NBA Championship. The Dubs are 24-6 and will shortly get James Wiseman and Klay Thompson back. Many believe they may sell some of their young players in a win-now deal, boosting their title ambitions.
Phoenix Suns +780
The Phoenix Suns had a 24-6 record in the playoffs last season, and with Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton returning, an NBA Championship futures bet at +780 looks tempting. This team’s natural talent alone should help them make the playoffs, but their chances are dwindling a little. Even at +800, many bettors will consider this wager to be exceptional value.
