One of the biggest surprises of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season was seeing Kyle Larson race so well after returning from a suspension. Larson’s victory became less surprising as the year progressed, to the point where it nearly seemed certain that he would win the championship, which he did.
Those of you who are already missing NASCAR and the thrills it delivers will be relieved to learn that you won’t have to wait long until the new year begins. Before the Daytona 500 on February 20, there will be three clash races, one of which will be held at the LA Memorial Coliseum.
The issue now is whether someone will stand up and challenge Larson this season, presuming he is as good as he was in 2020. There are many of drivers that have what it takes to win a championship, but it will be fascinating to watch how the US online sportsbooks rank everyone before of the 2022 season’s start.

The Daytona 500 kicks off the new season
Fans will be excited about the amount of races that will be shown on broadcast TV rather than cable this season, with FOX and NBC showing a total of 19 races.
The return of the Bristol Dirt Race, which was a big success last season, is included in the mix. On Sunday, April 17, 2022, the 2022 edition of that one will air in primetime. The playoffs will begin in early September and will consist of ten races, with the season’s final race taking place in Phoenix on November 6.
While the NASCAR odds for the Cup Series Championship have yet to be posted, the odds makers have revealed early betting lines for the Daytona 500. Winning does not guarantee a championship or even a playoff berth, but it is always a fantastic way to begin the season. This is a race that always appears to throw up a surprise or two, as seen by Michael McDowell’s victory last season as a massive underdog. For the next Daytona 500, he’s a +6000 favourite, indicating that the sportsbooks don’t think he’ll win again.
Denny Hamlin (+1000) is the early favourite, and for good reason: he has won the Daytona 500 in two of the previous three seasons, bringing his total to three. He’s followed by a group of drivers with current chances of +1200, though those odds are certain to change as the race approaches. Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson, the previous two Cup Series winners, are among the drivers in that group. Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano are also part of the group.
