MLB Betting Lines: Toronto Blue Jays Face New York Yankees as Underdogs

The Blue Jays head to New York as -164 underdogs to beat the American League East leaders.

The Yankees (20-8/12-4 home) have split four games, including defeating the Texas Rangers 1-0 at home on Monday to secure an 11-game winning streak.

However, the Blue Jays have failed to live up to the pre-season hype this year. Toronto (17-13/7-7 road) has lost five out of seven games. After losing 4-3 to the Guardians on Sunday, the Blue Jays need to win against the Yankees to get their season back on track.

The Pitchers

Lefty Yusei Kikuchi (1-1, 4.35) will start for the Blue Jays and face Luis Severino (2-0, 3.75). Severino goes into the clash with eight days of rest, and Kikuchi has had five days without a game.

In the last meeting between these two baseball powerhouses on May 4, Kikuchi recorded his first win of the season. The Japanese pitcher gave away one run and three hits in six innings, striking out seven and walking one, bettering his career record against the Yankees to 2-3 with a 4.06 ERA in six starts. In the last three outings at the Yankee Stadium, he is 1-1 with a 1.69 ERA.

On the road, the Blue Jay is 0-1 with a 3.75 ERA in three starts this season and a 1-1 record with a 4.24 in four starts at night.
