Tiger Woods has returned! Well, kind of. Woods will compete with his son, Charlie, in the 2021 PNC Championship, a non-PGA TOUR father-son challenge tournament.
The PNC Championship, which takes place December 18-19 in Orlando, Florida, will be Woods’ first appearance since suffering terrible leg and ankle injuries in a car accident in February; the 15-time major winner will compete in the 36-hole event for the second year in a row.
Woods tweeted on Wednesday, “Although it’s been a long and challenging year, I am very excited to close it out by competing in the @PNCchampionship with my son Charlie. I’m playing as a Dad and couldn’t be more excited and proud.”
It will be fantastic to see Tiger Woods back on the course for the first time since a serious automobile accident in February.

During his three weeks in hospital following the collision, the former world No. 1 confessed that amputation of the leg ‘was on the table.’ Woods spent the bulk of 2021 recovering at home before gradually returning to the game in recent months.
He sparked talk of a comeback last month by posting a video of himself playing a wedge shot on social media, and he was seen using driver and fairway woods on the range while hosting the Hero World Challenge last week.
